New pubs, restaurants and cafés in the South West, every Monday
For the firms that supply them. One email each Monday with the new food and drink venues across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, so you can get in touch while they are still setting up and choosing suppliers.
Free for 4 weeks. No card. Nothing to pay unless you choose a plan.
What you get each Monday
- One email, with a spreadsheet of the new venues we found in the South West since the last list
- Each venue's name, type, address and postcode
- Whether it applied to sell alcohol, and the hours it applied for, where the licence application says
- Whether it is a new venue or a new operator taking over premises
- A link to the public record it came from
- The date we first saw it
Example rows A South West list
These rows are made up to show the layout: they are not real venues. Your list has the same columns, with the full address and a link to the public record.

How early you hear
Licence applications: often weeks before opening
A venue that wants to sell alcohol applies to its council, and the council publishes the application for 28 days before deciding. That is often weeks before the doors open. We read them for 15 of the South West's 27 councils so far:
- Bath and North East Somerset
- Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
- Bristol
- Cornwall
- Isles of Scilly
- East Devon
- Gloucester
- Mid Devon
- North Devon
- North Somerset
- Plymouth
- Somerset
- Stroud
- Tewkesbury
- Torridge
The food register: before or around opening
Every food business must register with its council before it opens. We read the register for all 27 South West councils every day and pick out the new businesses still waiting for their first food hygiene inspection.
Sources: council licence applications and the Food Standards Agency's food register, both public records. We never show a person's full name.
